Job Overview
We are looking for a Senior Backend Developer with 3+ years of professional experience in Python to join our development team. The ideal candidate should have strong experience in backend development, API design, database management, and building scalable and reliable applications.
You will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining backend services while working closely with frontend developers, QA engineers, and other stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications using Python.
- Build and maintain RESTful APIs and backend services.
- Work with frameworks such as FastAPI, Django, or Flask.
- Design and optimize database schemas, queries, and transactions.
- Work with relational databases such as PostgreSQL/MySQL and preferably NoSQL databases such as MongoDB.
- Implement authentication, authorization, validation, and secure API practices.
- Integrate third-party APIs and external services.
- Write clean, reusable, maintainable, and well-documented code.
- Identify and resolve performance, scalability, and production issues.
- Implement background jobs, task queues, caching, and asynchronous processing where required.
- Write unit and integration tests to ensure application reliability.
- Participate in code reviews and maintain coding standards.
- Collaborate with frontend developers, DevOps engineers, QA teams, and product stakeholders.
- Troubleshoot bugs and provide effective technical solutions.
- Contribute to system architecture and technical decision-making.
- Monitor and improve application performance, reliability, and scalability.
Required Skills & Experience
- 3+ years of professional experience in Python backend development.
- Strong understanding of Python programming concepts, OOP, data structures, and algorithms.
- Hands-on experience with at least one Python backend framework, preferably FastAPI or Django.
- Strong experience in developing and consuming REST APIs.
- Good knowledge of PostgreSQL/MySQL and database design.
- Strong understanding of SQL, joins, indexing, transactions, and query optimization.
- Experience with Git/GitHub/GitLab and version control workflows.
- Understanding of authentication mechanisms such as JWT, OAuth, and API keys.
- Experience with debugging, logging, error handling, and performance optimization.
- Good understanding of software development lifecycle and coding best practices.
- Experience working with Linux-based environments.
Good to Have
- Experience with FastAPI and asynchronous Python programming.
- Experience with Redis and caching strategies.
- Experience with Celery, background workers, or task queues.
- Knowledge of Docker and containerized applications.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes.
- Experience with message brokers such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or NATS.
- Knowledge of microservices and event-driven architecture.
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools.
- Basic understanding of frontend technologies such as JavaScript/React is a plus.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
